Frequently asked questions
How much does a Bougie Table dinner cost?
From $185 per guest for the Signature Table (eight to twelve guests, $1,400 minimum), from $135 per guest for the Long Table (twelve to twenty, $1,800 minimum), and from $225 per guest for the Chef's Counter (two to six, $900 minimum). All prices are before sales tax. Gratuity is at your discretion and goes entirely to the chef and assistant.
Is this catering?
No. A Bougie Table chef cooks every course in your kitchen the evening of the dinner; nothing is prepared ahead somewhere else and dropped off. That is what makes it a private dinner rather than catering, and it is also what makes the food taste the way it does.
Is wine included?
No. Wine and spirits are provided by the host, and our chefs are happy to open and pour what you have chosen. We never sell, bundle, or charge for alcohol. If you would like suggestions, the menu card carries pairing notes for your bottles.
What about allergies and dietary needs?
Tell us on the inquiry form and on the intake call. Every allergy and preference is settled before the night, your chef reviews the list three days out, and a written allergen card for each course is shown to you before service.
What does my kitchen need?
A working oven, two burners, and a sink. Your chef brings a knife roll, a portable induction burner, sheet pans, coolers, aprons, and a cleaning kit. If your kitchen is smaller than the minimum, the Long Table format usually still works, and we will say so on the call.
Where do you cook?
Placerville, Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, El Dorado Hills, Folsom, Granite Bay, Roseville, Apple Hill, Fair Play, South Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento on request. Travel is included within 30 miles of Placerville. Beyond that, a $75 travel fee applies; South Lake Tahoe is quoted separately in winter.
How far ahead should I book?
Seven days minimum at launch. Requests inside two days are for returning hosts only. Holiday dates go first; tell us early.
What is the cancellation policy?
A 50 percent deposit holds the date. The balance is due seven days before the dinner, when the guest count locks. Full refund at 14 days or more. Inside 14 days the deposit is retained. Inside three days there is no refund, except that we will rebook the dinner within 60 days.
Can I give a Bougie Table dinner as a gift?
Yes, from October 2026. Gift cards are for any amount and never expire. Choose "A gift card" as the occasion on the inquiry form and we will arrange it by phone.
Will you take photographs?
Only with your written consent, and any guest can opt out. If you say yes, you receive the photographs the next morning.
